This is an eye catching, double-sided saddle blanket. This rug has a raised outline forming a double twill pattern. There are slighlty different patterns on each side. This is a handspun wool rug utilizing both natural and aniline dyes in white, black, gray, and tan.
The rug was purchased in the late 1980s-1990s and has one owner.

Condition: Fair-Good. Slightly out of square. Some wear on fibers.

Care and maintaintenqnce of vintage Native American rugs: Regularly vacuum rugs but without a brush roller so that the texture of the rug is not effected. Avoid placing the rug in direct sunligh. Store rugs flat in a cool, dry place to help preserve the fabric and colors. If cleaning is necessary, contact a company that specailizes in cleaning authentic Native Amercan rugs. Do not use commercial cleaners. soaps, or stain removers or rug cleaners.
