This is a gorgeous, oversized Zapotec rug (Mexico) depicting a Navajo-style Yeibeichai weaving. This weaving has 10 dancers and a leader and trailer all beautifully styled. The weaving utilizes aniline dyes and wool in subtle yet eye-catching colors of turquoise, white, brown, gray, tallow and mauve.
The weaving was purchased in the 1990s and has only had one owner. It has been on display in a non-smoking home.
Size: 53” x 75”
Condition: Running of colors, mold due to a storm and flooding. Staining mostly along bottom 1/3-1/2 of the rug. Top portion has little damage. Note closeup photos. The weaving has been in storage since the damage.
The price reflects the damage, but due to the oversize and heavy weight of the weaving, the price also reflects a heavier shipping cost.
