Remarkable! This is a gorgeous jar-shaped basket with a lid. Origin unknown. This basket is decorated with striking traditional geometric designs. The basket lid has a woven knob on top giving this basket a utilitarian and graceful look. The lid has a delicate and thoughtful woven dark pattern around the rim. 
 
The basket was purchased at a Native American auction in the 1980s-1990s (sticker still attached), but no authentication of age or origin is available. 
 
Basket measures about 4 1/2 inches in height and about 5 inches at its widest. This basket is in excellent condition.
 
This basket would look wonderful in the currently popular farmhouse style, a contemporary decor, or anywhere there is desire for warmth, smooth lines, texture, and an earthy element.
