This is an attractive, simply-designed fluted clay vessel that evokes feelings of a melon jar. There are no chips or cracks and is in very good-excellent condition. It measures almost 3 inches in height. The shape of the vessel is clean and almost contemporary, and the fluted bowl portion of the vessel provides a lovely sense of motion. Origin and age are unknown but it appears old.
The vessel was purchased at auction in the 1980s-1990s and has had one owner since. It has been on display in a non-smoking home in an open, yet protective display case. The vessel would be perfect for the current popular farmhouse style, a chic modern/contemporary home or office, or anywhere there is a desire for texture, ethnic art, geometric symmetry, or a wish for natural earthy elements.

This vintage piece of pottery is designed as art. As such, it should not be used to hold or carry water such as being used as a vase for flowers or as a pot to grow plants.
Do not clean with water or any solvents. To clean, dust lightly taking care not to scratch the surface. Use of water or liquid will ruin the design and patina of the pottery.
