This bowl appears to be old and has wear and damage as would be expected of an old piece. There are no cracks, but is worn and some outside adornments appear broken off. Despite its appearance, its age is not known, nor is its origin. The vessel measures 4 inches in height. There are no identifying markings. The clay pot is rather interesting: the adornments on the sides may have been designed to look like rope, braids, or maybe some sort of animal.

Regardless of its origin and age, the vessel is intriguing. It was purchased at a Native American auction in the 1980s-1990s. Although purchased at a Native American auction, its origin and age are unknown and it may not be Native American. Since purchase at the auction, it has had only one owner. The vessel has been on display in a non-smoking home in an open, yet protective display case. The vessel would be perfect for the current popular farmhouse style, or anywhere there is a desire for texture, ethnic art, geometric symmetry, or a wish for natural earthy elements.

Clay Vessel. Appears Old. Origin Unknown.
