This basket is so sweet! This vintage Alaskan basket is of cylindrical shape. It is woven of native grasses and is decorated with woven water birds of various colors, contrasting with geometric shapes. The basket measures 9 1/2 inches in height and 9 1/2 inches at its widest diameter. 
 
The basket was purchased at a Native American auction (sticker still attached) in the 1980s-1990s. An appraiser has declared the basket to be Alaskan, but no authentication of age or origin is available. 
 
This is a versatile piece which would look wonderful in the currently popular farmhouse style, a contemporary decor, or anywhere there is desire for warmth, smooth lines, texture, and an earthy element.
 
There is rim and side stich damage and the colors are somewhat faded. The price has been reduced to accommodate for the damage.
