This vintage Alaskan basket has a bowl shape. It is woven of native grasses and is decorated with geometric chevron shapes of soft various colors. It has a loose weave. The basket was purchased at a Native American auction (sticker still attached) in the 1980s-1990s. An appraiser has declared the basket to be Alaskan, but no authentication of age or origin is available.
 
Basket measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches in height. This is a versatile piece which would look wonderful in the currently popular farmhouse style, a contemporary decor, or anywhere there is desire for warmth, smooth lines, texture, and an earthy element.
 
The condition is considered good: the colors are somewhat faded. The basket has been appraised at $45.00.
