This is an interesting pear-shaped basket with a lid. Softly colored square blocks decorate both the body and lid. The basket is woven using native grasses. It measures 10 inches in height and 8 inches in diameter.

The basket was purchased at a Native American auction (sticker still attached) in the 1980s-1990s. An appraiser has declared the basket to be Alaskan, but no authentication of age or origin is available.

This is a versatile piece would look wonderful in the currently popular farmhouse style, a contemporary decor, or anywhere there is desire for warmth, smooth lines, texture, and an earthy element.

The vintage basket is missing some stitches on the rim, and the colors are somewhat faded. The price has been reduced to accommodate for the damage.
